Will miss most of the season

Holm underwent surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right thigh and will be sidelined for four to six months, Bologna announced.

Analysis: Holm suffered a very severe injury as feared immediately and will return in the spring if the rehab goes to plan. Bologna are evaluating some free agents to join Nadir Zortea and Lorenzo De Silvestri on the right wing.

Holm left Saturday's game versus Romania midway through the second half on a stretcher due to a thigh injury, Sky Italy reported.

Analysis: Holm will soon fly back to Bologna, and the team is worried that the physical problem will likely turn out to be significant. He's been alternating with Nadir Zortea on the right flank in the early going.
