Wins two tackles in defeat
Dumfries registered two tackles (two won) and two clearances in Sunday's 2-1 defeat against Atletico Madrid. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 49th minute.
Analysis: Dumfries stayed busy Sunday, winning two tackles and three aerial duels while adding two blocked shots in the loss to Atletico Madrid. He continues to share playing time with Trent, though he appears to have the edge, starting five of six matches. Through those appearances, he has recorded seven tackles won, four key passes, and four aerial duels won, though he has yet to reach his full potential with his new club.
Trains with new team
Dumfries is already training with Real Madrid and set for a regular role under coach Jose Mourinho, according to Madrid Xtra.
Analysis: Dumfries joined Real Madrid on a deal through 2030 after five seasons at Inter, where he scored 26 goals and provided 22 assists combined, including a productive final season that saw him contribute to 18 clean sheets in 25 matches despite missing extended time with an ankle injury. His early integration into training positions him to compete for a starting role at right back alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold as Real Madrid prepares for the new 2026/27 La Liga season under new coach Jose Mourinho.
