Returns to bench
Nebel (groin) is on the bench for Saturday's match against Schalke.
Analysis: Nebel returns to the squad after a groin injury kept him sidelined since the beginning of the campaign. The midfielder resumed team training before the Bayer Leverkusen match but needed additional time to rebuild his fitness. He could now make his first Bundesliga appearance of the season as a substitute. A bench role allows Mainz to ease him back into competitive action following his lengthy absence.
Back in contention for Saturday
Nebel (groin) is available for selection against Schalke 04 on Saturday after recovering from his injury, according to coach Urs Fischer. "Zentner, Kohr, Ruoppi and Silas will be missing on Saturday. All other players are ready for the squad."
