Ruled out against Bayern Munich
Engelhardt (undisclosed) has been ruled out of Sunday's Bundesliga clash against Bayern Munich after suffering an apparent injury during Thursday's UEFA Conference League encounter against Monaco.
Analysis: Engelhardt remains sidelined after being forced off just 15 minutes into Thursday's European fixture against Monaco. The midfielder has been a regular starter for Freiburg this season, making his absence a setback ahead of Sunday's difficult encounter against Bayern Munich. The nature and severity of his injury remain unclear, with no definitive timeline established for his return. Maximilian Eggestein and Patrick Osterhage could see additional responsibilities in midfield while Engelhardt remains unavailable.
Picks up injury in UECL game
Engelhardt subbed off in the 15th minute of Thursday's UEFA Conference League clash with Monaco due to an apparent physical issue.
Analysis: Engelhardt has been a regular starter this season but could miss the crucial meeting with Bayern if he has sustained a significant blow. This news potentially weakens the midfield of a side that may turn to Maximilian Eggestein and Patrick Osterhage, though the latter has rarely been used during the campaign.
