Tallies five saves against Brentford
Tzolakis registered five saves and allowed one goal in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Brentford.
Analysis: Tzolakis produced a strong showing, with four of his five saves coming on close-range attempts, and he was beaten only once during the draw. The goalkeeper has yet to concede more than twice in a single match, but he has now gone five consecutive Premier League outings without a clean sheet. Up next is a home meeting with Ipswich, who have scored eight goals across their last five league contests.
Makes five saves against Fulham
Tzolakis recorded five saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-0 loss against Fulham.
Analysis: Tzolakis kept the visitors' hopes alive with five shots stopped, but he could have done better on Alex Iwobi's shot from just outside the box that slipped past him for the decisive goal during the loss. The goalkeeper raised his season average to 3.7 saves per contest. However, after opening the campaign with three clean sheets in his first three appearances, he has now gone four straight games without one. Hull host Brentford next week, a difficult matchup against one of the league's top five attacks.
Concedes twice Sunday
Tzolakis recorded four saves and allowed two goals in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Everton.
Analysis: Tzolakis conceded multiple goals in his third straight match Sunday, an unfortunate turn of events after starting the season with three consecutive clean sheets. He made four saves for the third time this season to limit the damage to two goals. Next up is a favorable matchup at Fulham, a side which has scored four goals through six matches this season.
Saves pk, makes three saves
Tzolakis recorded three saves and allowed two goals in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Newcastle United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 47th minute.
Analysis: Tzolakis delivered another steady outing against Newcastle on Saturday, turning away three shots, including a penalty, and securing two high claims in the defeat. His start to the campaign has been quietly strong, opening with three straight clean sheets and stacking 17 saves and 10 high claims while conceding just four goals heading into the international break.
Clean sheet run ends at Chelsea
Tzolakis made five saves and allowed two goals in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Chelsea.
Analysis: Tzolakis saw his run of clean sheets come to an end at Stamford Bridge, and the manner of the first concession will not sit well with him, since Rogers beat him at his near post from a tight angle. The Greek was beaten again in the second half, but he otherwise stood up to the barrage well with five saves, three of them from inside his own box, and he kept Hull in the contest when the hosts threatened to run away with it. He will hope to bounce back on another road trip against Newcastle on Saturday.
Third straight clean sheet
Tzolakis recorded one save and allowed zero goals in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Aston Villa.
Analysis: Tzolakis was not made to work anywhere near as hard as he had been in the first two rounds and had only a George Hemmings strike to deal with. It proved enough for a third clean sheet in a row, extending a superb start to both his Hull career and his time in the Premier League. Sterner examination awaits at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea are next up in the league.
Keeps second straight clean sheet
Tzolakis made three saves and allowed zero goals in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Coventry City.
Analysis: Tzolakis stopped all three efforts he faced, twice denying Taiwo Awoniyi before comfortably saving Jay Dasilva's stoppage-time header. The goalkeeper has opened the campaign with two clean sheets and eight saves through two Premier League appearances, playing a major role in Hull's perfect start. He'll attempt to maintain that form in a tougher matchup against Aston Villa.
Shuts out Manchester United
Tzolakis kept a clean sheet while making a save during Saturday's 2-0 win over Manchester United.
Analysis: Tzolakis shocked United in his Premier League debut as Hull upset the apple cart with Saturday's 2-0 victory. The keeper is a veteran of European Competition from his time with Olympiacos and will hope that experience can help Hull stay in the Premier League after this season. Hull head to fellow promoted side Coventry City in their next match.
Signs with Hull City
Tzolakis signed a five year contract with Hull City through the summer of 2031 after departing Olympiacos, the club announced.
Analysis: Tzolakis kept 64 clean sheets across 131 appearances for Olympiacos after making his senior debut in March 2020, winning four Greek Super League titles along with a Greek Cup, a Greek Super Cup and the 2023-24 UEFA Conference League. He was named Greek Super League Player and Goalkeeper of the Season in 2024-25 and played every minute of last season's league campaign, recording 23 shutouts across 43 appearances in all competitions. The 23-year-old has also earned nine caps for Greece. Tzolakis is expected to compete with Jack Butland for the starting goalkeeper role, with preseason friendlies likely to help determine who emerges as the club's number one.
