Active Saturday
Hudson-Odoi (quadriceps) reappeared in a friendly game against Udinese on Saturday.
Analysis: Hudson-Odoi returned to the field after being inactive since mid-April, strengthening his team's offense as they prepare for the 2026/27 period. He'll now join the contention for wide attacking spots with Omari Hutchinson and Dan Ndoye and could push for occasional set pieces if given a significant role. However, Hudson-Odoi has just logged his first minutes of pre-season play and could still see some rotation before establishing himself as a starter.
Set to step up recovery
Hudson-Odoi is expected to step up his recovery and could be partly integrated into training as soon as Monday, according to coach Oliver Glasner, per Nottingham Post. "We think Callum will return quickest. And then Murillo and Savona will take a little bit of time; they are progressing with their rehab, whereas Callum should be partly integrated on Monday. We always have to see the reaction after surgery, so we have to be careful"
Analysis: Hudson-Odoi underwent surgery for a thigh injury that ended his 2025-26 season early, and manager Oliver Glasner noted he is progressing quicker than teammates Murillo and Savona, who are also working through their own rehabilitation. The coach stressed the club will monitor his reaction carefully given the recent surgery before fully reintegrating him. Hudson-Odoi is expected to continue building toward full training in the coming days as Nottingham Forest's preseason progresses.
