Maguire recorded 10 clearances and one interception in Sunday's 2-2 draw versus Everton. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 79th minute.
Analysis: Maguire produced 10 clearances, doing everything he needed to keep the match deadlocked at two-all. The defender can be maligned at times but he's a big part of the backline and consistently shuts down attacks. This sort of defensive volume is about as much upside as he offers though, he's not one to join the attack too frequently.
Shot leads to controversial goal
Maguire generated one shot (zero on goal) in Sunday's 5-2 victory versus Ipswich Town.
Analysis: Maguire's only shot of the game led to the second goal and has been spoken about relentlessly since. The defender appeared to control the ball with his hand before controlling the ball and striking the shot which was put into the back of the net by Jacob Greaves. VAR deemed the handball accidental and therefore the goal was allowed as his strike didn't lead directly to the goal, but went in off the Ipswich defender instead.
