Mika Biereth
ASM
Fully available moving forward
Biereth (undisclosed) trained fully during the international break and is an option, though his presence in the next matchday squad list will depend on coach Filipe Luis, the club posted.
Analysis: Biereth had been left out of the squad for the match against Lens for undisclosed reasons, a decision that could be linked to Folarin Balogun's return, and this update does not fully clear up his standing. He finished last season with two goals and two assists across 1,063 minutes in Ligue 1, and his path to regular minutes remains a situation to monitor as Monaco's season continues.
Left out of squad
Biereth was left out of the squad for Friday's clash against Lens for undisclosed reasons, a decision that could be linked to Folarin Balogun's return to the squad, the club posted.
Analysis: Biereth finished last season with two goals and two assists across 1,063 minutes in Ligue 1, a limited role behind Folarin Balogun, who led the club in goals before his expected departure this summer failed to materialize. This exclusion now casts some doubt on the bigger role Biereth appeared set for, and further clarity on his situation should emerge as Monaco's season continues.
Scores at Anfield in friendly
Biereth scored once and added an assist across five preseason friendlies for Monaco, with the goal coming against Liverpool at Anfield, the club posted.
Analysis: Biereth finished last season with two goals and two assists across 1,063 minutes in Ligue 1, a limited role behind Folarin Balogun, who led the club in goals. He is set for a greater role heading into the 2026/27 Ligue 1 season with Balogun reportedly expected to leave, and this productive preseason stretch is an early sign he could make the most of the extra space in the Diagonale's attack.
