Finds back of net Saturday
Delap scored one goal to go with six shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-1 victory versus Aston Villa. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 75th minute.
Analysis: Delap was one of the final signings for Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, and the striker didn't waste time to find the back of the net in just his second start. Delap was active in this match, notching a season-high six shots as well. This bodes well for his chances of staying in the XI moving forward.
Signs five-year deal with Forest
Delap has completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea to Nottingham Forest, signing a five-year contract with the club.
Analysis: Delap arrives at Nottingham Forest after making 47 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season, including five in the Champions League. The 23-year-old previously demonstrated his Premier League scoring ability with Ipswich, leading the club with 12 goals during the 2024-25 campaign. His arrival adds significant competition in Forest's attack, with Delap set to challenge Chris Wood and Igor Jesus for minutes at center-forward as he looks to establish himself as a regular starter.
