Four tackles against Argentina
Fathy recorded four tackles (one won) in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Argentina.
Analysis: Fathy would not appear Tuesday until halftime, playing 45 minutes in the loss. He was mainly used as a defensive midfielder, only recording four tackles in his time on the field. He then ended the World Cup with three starts in four appearances, notching a cross, two chances created, nine clearances and 11 tackles.

Analysis: Fathy didn't do much defensively, but that's because Australia didn't pose much of a threat overall. The defender should keep his place in the starting lineup when Egypt take on Argentina on Tuesday in the Round of 16.
