Assists, sends six crosses in loss

Perisic assisted once to go with six crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Wednesday's 4-2 defeat to England.

Analysis: Perisic set up Petar Musa's goal at the end of the first half, but he was also a constant playmaking threat on the left wing with his six crosses. He was forced to cover a lot of ground due to tactical reasons, but Perisic still delivered a solid line while also boosting his numbers with corners and set-piece involvement. Expect Perisic to remain in the XI -- and possibly in a more advanced role -- in the upcoming group-stage matches.

Provides assist in opener

Perisic assisted once to go with six crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Wednesday's 4-2 defeat versus England.

Analysis: Perisic found space in first-half stoppage time to receive Mario Pasalic's clipped ball over the top, cleverly flicking a first-time headed knockdown to Petar Musa, who finished from close range to level the score at 2-2 right before halftime in Croatia's eventual 4-2 defeat to England. His combination play with Pasalic and Musa was the standout passage of an otherwise difficult night for Croatia, who were ultimately overwhelmed by England's second-half surge. Perisic contributed four chances created, six crosses and two corners against the Three Lions and his experience and movement in behind the defenses remain a key outlet for Croatia heading into their next group match against Panama on June 23.
