Drops into rotational role
Seiwald began the season as a starter but has come off the bench in each of the last two matches.
Analysis: Seiwald has seen his role decrease after opening the campaign in the starting XI, with Neil El Aynaoui establishing himself as a regular and Ezechiel Banzuzi also competing for minutes in defensive midfield. Seiwald has recorded five tackles, four interceptions and three clearances across three Bundesliga appearances. He should remain involved in the midfield rotation, though his recent move to the bench creates uncertainty over his chances of regular starts.
Contributes defensively
Seiwald made two interceptions and three tackles (winning two) during Saturday's 3-0 win over Gladbach.
Analysis: Seiwald contributed defensively in midfield as he led Leipzig in interceptions and tackles during the victory. Seiwald knows his role in the side is to provide balance in the center of the pitch with just two goal involvements across 33 appearances last season.
