Out for non-injury reasons
Cerrillo was listed as out for Saturday's match against FC Dallas for reasons not related to injury, per the MLS Player Status Report.
Analysis: Cerrillo previously missed one game through suspension but has otherwise been a regular piece of his team's midfield this season. As a defensive midfielder who provides structure and press resistance in the center of the park, his absence leaves the Galaxy short of central options, with Marco Reus perhaps moving from the front line to midfield, or defender Justin Haak pushing forward until Cerrillo is back.
Option after ban
Cerrillo is no longer suspended and is an option to play in the club's next match against San Jose on Saturday.
Analysis: Cerrillo had been serving a one match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, which kept him out of the clash against St. Louis City, with Marco Reus and Robert Taylor sharing minutes in the engine room in his place. With the suspension now served, Cerrillo is back in contention to regain his regular spot in the starting lineup.
