Sidelined for Inter fixture

Ranieri (foot) "is rehabbing and won't return Sunday," coach Paolo Vanoli stated.

Analysis: Ranieri will skip a second contest on the trot and is in danger of being unavailable also for the Atalanta and Sassuolo ones, given the tricky nature of his injury. Marin Pongracic or Viery will join Radu Dragusin in the middle of the defense in relief.

Out for Como contest

Ranieri (foot) was unavialable for Sunday's game versus Como.

Analysis: Ranieri didn't make the game-day squad list due to foot discomfort and will try to recover for next Sunday's home clash with Inter. Marin Pongracic got the call over Victor Valdepenas to replace him in this one.

Questionable for Como match

Ranieri "has a pinched nerve in his foot that needs to be evaluated," coach Paolo Vanoli announced.

Analysis: Ranieri subbed off at halftime last week and has been slowed down in training afterward. He'll go through a fitness test and could be limited even if available. Viery or Marin Pongracic would take his place if necessary.

Posts three clearances against Napoli

Ranieri recorded two tackles (zero won), three clearances and one interception and sent in two crosses (zero accurate) in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Napoli.

Analysis: Ranieri turned in another solid shift and appears to have surpassed Viery, who's been playing the flank, Victor Valdepenas and Marin Pongracic in the pecking order to team up with Radu Dragusin in the middle of the defense. He left a little early but seemed to be simply cramping up. He has logged at least one tackle in his three displays, accruing four (one won) and adding 12 clearances, three interceptions and two crosses (zero accurate), with no clean sheets.

Busy in Roma contest

Ranieri registered one tackle (one won) and nine clearances and committed one foul in Monday's 4-0 defeat versus Roma.

Analysis: Ranieri is ahead of Viery and Marin Pongracic to partner Radu Dragusin for the time being and didn't have a great debut, given the result, but he at least managed to amass defensive stats. He contributed to eight clean sheets in 2025/2026, totaling 34 tackles, 24 interceptions and 127 clearances.

Expelled from the bench versus Juventus

Ranieri had five clearances and was sent off after leaving the pitch in Sunday's 2-0 win over Juventus.

Analysis: Ranieri was on point but not super busy in the back and was red-carded right after subbing off for protesting a call too intensely. He closes his season having helped secure eight clean sheets in 34 appearances (29 starts), notching 24 interceptions, 127 clearances and 13 blocks. Daniele Rugani or Pietro Comuzzo will fill in against Atalanta next Sunday.

Under pressure against Lecce

Ranieri recorded three tackles (one won), 34 passes and 10 clearances in Monday's 1-1 draw against Lecce.

Analysis: Ranieri faced more threats than in the previous three tilts and responded well for the most part, even though his team allowed one goal. He has posted at least one tackle in the last five fixtures, racking up seven (three won) and contributing to two clean sheets over that span. This marked his 11th match in a row with one or more clearances, for a total of 52. On the other hand, he interrupted a six-game streak with at least one interception.
