Returns to Sevilla on loan
Vlachodimos will spend a second consecutive season on loan at Sevilla from Newcastle United, the club announced.
Analysis: Vlachodimos arrived at the Sanchez-Pizjuan a year ago and quickly established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper, playing every minute of 33 LaLiga fixtures plus one Copa del Rey match in a campaign that helped the club achieve their seasonal objective. His performances throughout the season convinced the club to bring him back for another year, with his consistency and command of his penalty area making him one of the more reliable options between the posts in the division. The 32-year-old Greek international had previously spent five outstanding seasons at Benfica, where he made 225 appearances including 32 in the Champions League and won two Portuguese league titles, before moves to Nottingham Forest and Newcastle limited his playing time significantly. His return to the Iberian Peninsula has clearly reignited his form, and Sevilla will be counting on him to build on last season's strong performances heading into the 2026-27 campaign.
Makes one save
Vlachodimos registered one save and allowed one goal in Sunday's 1-0 defeat versus Real Madrid.
Analysis: Vlachodimos Made just a save while allowing one goal to Real Madrid on Sunday. He's conceded 20 goals in the last 12 appearances, only making 22 saves in that span. The keeper will head to Celt's Vigo for the last match of the season on Sunday, who have scored eight goals in the last five contests.
Steady after early letdowns
Vlachodimos registered one save and allowed two goals in Wednesday's 3-2 win against Villarreal.
Analysis: Vlachodimos didn't allow a goal after giving up two early in the match, helping Sevilla ultimately come back and win. He will likely face a more steady stream of shots in the next match against Real Madrid, a team which has scored 72 times in 36 La Liga games but might not have much to play for with the league title already decided.
Concedes one
Vlachodimos registered four saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over Espanyol.
Analysis: Vlachodimos made four saves and conceded only once. He has now totaled 10 saves and eight clearances across the last four games, conceding five goals. Next, he faces Villarreal in a crucial match that could help Sevilla avoid relegation.
Secures clean sheet
Vlachodimos recorded no saves and allowed zero goals in Monday's 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad.
Analysis: Vlachodimos recorded one clearance and secured his fifth clean sheet of the campaign. In the last four games, he has made seven saves and six clearances, conceding five goals during that period. Next, he faces Espanyol, who have yet to win a game in 2026.
Five saves in defeat
Vlachodimos registered five saves and allowed two goals in Sunday's 2-1 defeat versus Osasuna.
Analysis: Vlachodimos came up with five saves in Sunday's 2-1 loss at Osasuna, coming through with a handful of big stops to keep Sevilla within striking distance against a home side that piled on the pressure and dominated with 24 touches inside the box. He had no shot on Raul Garcia's 80th minute equalizer or Alejandro Catena's stoppage-time winner, as both finishes came from point-blank range off crosses that left him exposed. Vlachodimos will aim to bounce back in Monday's showdown with Real Sociedad as Sevilla remains locked in a high-stakes relegation battle.
Concedes twice in loss
Vlachodimos recorded one save and allowed two goals in Thursday's 2-0 defeat to Levante.
Analysis: Vlachodimos allowed the second goal late in stoppage time, but only making one save is not a great look against a struggling Levante team. The goalkeeper could continue to struggle against Osasuna, a team which has scored 37 times in 32 matches.
