Undergoes groin surgery
Grillitsch went under the knife to address a sports hernia and will miss at least a month, Ansa reported.
Analysis: Grillitsch has played just eight minutes so far and missed the last two matches with what was initially labeled as a thigh problem, but further tests revealed a more serious issue, and he quickly had the operation in Vienna to speed up the timetable for his return. He'll still miss a few games after the break and could be sidelined until the second one. Matteo Cichella and Anouar El Azzouzi will back up the starters Giuseppe Calo and Patrizio Masini while he's out.
Nursing thigh injury
Grillitsch has been ruled out for Saturday's away game versus Genoa due to thigh soreness, Tuttomercatoweb reported.
Analysis: Grillitsch has yet to get going after being without a team all summer and will be re-evaluated next week, but he could be given the first international break to recover and work on his fitness. Patrizio Masini and Giuseppe Cichella have been ahead of him in terms of playing time so far.
