Rensch (thigh) didn't feature in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Atalanta.
Analysis: Rensch recovered from a thigh issue but stayed on the bench for the whole game. He's currently behind Wesley, Nahuel Molina and youngster Emanuele Lulli in the pecking order to play on both wings at the moment. He'll likely be used mostly on the left this season, deputizing for the first one.
Expected back for Atalanta game
Rensch (thigh) has trained fully for most of the week and should resume being an option for Saturday's match versus Atalanta, Sky Italy reported.
Analysis: Rensch is in better shape after dealing with muscle fatigue in the first two rounds and is on track to return to the squad, backing up Wesley, Nahuel Molina, and Emanuele Lulli on the wings. He featured in 31 matches (16 starts) last season, scoring once, assisting four times and logging 32 crosses (five accurate), 39 tackles and 43 clearances.
Will not return versus Lecce
Rensch (thigh) "is out for this one, but we expect to return to full training early next week," coach Gian Piero Gasperini announced.
Analysis: Rensch will skip the second contest on the trot because of an ailment but is not far from returning. Emanuele Lulli drew a surprise start last week because Nahuel Molina wasn't 100 percent on the right flank, while Wesley manned the left one as usual.
Ruled out for Fiorentina game
Rensch won't play versus Fiorentina due to a flexor injury, Corriere dello Sport relayed.
Analysis: Rensch suffered the issue in the last practice before the game and will undergo further tests in the coming days. Roma will play their next game versus Monza next Monday. He wasn't expected to start, but his team won't have other wingbacks behind Nahuel Molina and Wesley.
Scores off bench in win
Rensch scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 3-2 victory versus Parma.
Analysis: Rensch stayed outside the box on a corner kick and blasted a powerful strike home after a pullback pass in stoppage time against Parma. The wide defender couldn't do much more in 15 minutes of play as Zeki Celik's replacement. Rensch has now scored once in addition to his three assists across his last five league outings. He could earn an increased role going forward as he remains in contention with Celik and Wesley for the wing-back spots in a 3-4-2-1 formation.
Plays one half in Bologna clash
Rensch (thigh) had two clearances and one interception and drew one foul in 45 minutes in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Bologna.
Analysis: Rensch saw his streak of starts come to an end due to Wesley's return and a small injury, but he substituted for Zeki Celik (thigh) at halftime. He'll handle the right wing if his teammate misses time. He only contributed defensively in this one and was unable to maintain his four-game streaks with at least one key pass and one cross, racking up six and five (two on target), respectively, in his previous outings. He was coming off three assists in a row.
Selected for Bologna game
Rensch (thigh) has made Roma's squad list to face Bologna on Saturday.
Analysis: Rensch bowed out early last week due to a minor injury and has been able to recover in a hurry, but he might still drop to the bench, as the starter Wesley (thigh) is back from a multi-week absence. Rensch has filled in nicely, providing three assists in a row and logging three chances created, five crosses (two accurate) and five tackles (four won) in his last four starts.
Avoids serious issues
Rensch has been diagnosed with a contracture, Tuttomercatoweb reported.
Analysis: Rensch escaped without a lesion and will attempt to recuperate during the week ahead of Saturday's away game versus Bologna. Kostas Tsimikas would get the nod if he and Wesley (thigh) weren't ready for a full complement of minutes.
