Shomurodov logged one goal on two shots (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) during Uzbekistan's 3-1 loss Saturday to DR Congo.
Analysis: With both goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi and right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka slacking, Shomurodov took advantage of a ball left open in DR Congo's penalty box. At one point, Uzbekistan's top forward lobbed the ball over Mpasi, and the former's overall effort resulted in a goal. Among the Uzbeks, Shomurodov and two others won more than two tackles against Congo's active offense. Only he logged a block against the Congo as well. Overall, his World Cup features one goal on four shots (two on goal), six tackles (four won) and the block.

Analysis: Shomurodov was ticketed to be one of Uzbekistan's best players in the World Cup.
