Back from suspension
Danso is no longer suspended and is an option for his club again.
Analysis: Danso was sent off in his last appearance but is eligible to play again, having sat out his one match due to a ban. The center-back has started in five games for Sunderland this season, so this is a good return to the lineup. He will eye a start in his return, starting in his past five league appearances.
Sent off against Bournemouth
Danso was shown a straight red card in the 17th minute of Sunday's Premier League clash against Bournemouth and will miss at least Sunderland's next league fixture against Leeds United on Oct. 25.
Analysis: Danso endured a disastrous start against Bournemouth, miscontrolling a long ball from Omar Alderete before bringing down Evanilson as the striker broke clear on goal. The challenge resulted in an immediate dismissal for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity, leaving Sunderland with 10 men for most of the encounter. The center-back faces a suspension that will rule him out of the upcoming meeting with Leeds, with the final length of his ban still to be confirmed. Luke O'Nien could be handed a starting role in central defense during Danso's absence.
