Delivers solid display in rare start
Senesi registered one tackle (one won), one clearance and one interception in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Analysis: Senesi was handed a rare start in central defense as Micky van de Ven was rested due to fatigue, playing 89 minutes and contributing two chances created, one clearance and one interception. The defender has accumulated six tackles, two interceptions and nine clearances across two Premier League appearances this season. Despite his involvement against United, Senesi is expected to return to a backup role once Van de Ven is ready to resume his regular starting duties.
Outside of starting XI
Senesi has stayed on the bench each of the last two matches following his opening day start against Brentford.
Analysis: Senesi looks to be the top backup for Spurs this season behind Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven. Fresh off a 37-start campaign with Bournemouth, he's in a vastly different situation since the Cherries also have European play to deal with, something Spurs weren't close to. For now, Senesi will see limited minutes and may only appear in Cup action until an injury pops up on the back line.
