Analysis: Foden returned to the starting XI after coming off the bench in Saturday's Premier League win over Coventry, producing two chances while remaining involved in City's attacking play. However, the 26-year-old was unable to end his prolonged scoring drought and has now gone 33 competitive appearances without a goal for Manchester City. Despite the lack of goals, Foden continues to receive significant opportunities across the attacking midfield positions and should remain heavily involved in the rotation.

Analysis: Foden was back in the starting XI Friday as he appears to have won over the role on the right flank with new manager Enzo Maresca. He would see a few chances early on to score a goal, but could not convert, with all three chances off target. However, he would put his three chances created to good use, assisting on two different goals. These are the attackers' first goal contributions of the season as he looks to return to his 2023/24 form.

Analysis: Foden was under a lot of pressure to start the 2026/27 season after underperforming the past two seasons, following a Premier League Player of the Season award in the 2023/24 season. However, he is set for a major role in Maresca's plans, and it was evident when starting the opener, recording two shots, two chances created and eight crosses in the win. He was active on the ball for much of the match, nearly bagging an assist in the early stages. He will look to close in on the 20 goal contribution mark this season, as that will prove his top levels are back.
Signs new deal with Man City
Foden signed a new four year contract with Manchester City through 2030, the club announced.
Analysis: Foden has won 20 major honors with City since making his first team debut under manager Pep Guardiola in 2017, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League, and became just the sixth player to reach 100 Premier League goal contributions for the club in May. The 26-year-old previously swept individual honors in 2023-24, winning the PFA Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season after scoring 19 league goals that campaign. Foden is expected to remain a central figure in City's midfield under new coach Enzo Maresca as the club looks to build toward further success.
Goal ruled out

Analysis: Foden looked to have an equalizer Sunday, but it would later be ruled off by VAR, with his 90th-minute goal taken away. This is a rough way to end the season, as the attacker missed out on the England World Cup squad as well. He concludes the campaign with a decent stat line despite his limited role at times, notching seven goals and five assists in 33 appearances (23 starts).
Left out of England squad
Foden was not included in England's World Cup squad and will now look to end the season on a high note in Sunday's finale against Aston Villa before getting back in form for the 2026/27 campaign.

Analysis: Foden looked to be back to his 2023/24 self as he tore up the middle of the pitch Wednesday, notching a shot, four crosses and five chances created. He would go on to earn two assists, finding Antoine Semenyo in the 32nd minute with a beautiful back heel assist before another great assist on Omar Marmoush's 40th-minute goal. This brings the English attacker to seven goals and five assists this season despite less than 2,000 minutes played, a good sign for him after inking a new deal with the club.

Analysis: Foden entered the field in the 60th minute Saturday and gave a decent 30 minutes of work, earning two shots and four crosses as he found himself in multiple decisive positions while on the pitch. However, he has remained without a start in league play since March 4, underwhelming for the attacker. It appears his time has dwindled in the starting XI since the addition of Antoine Semenyo, not a good sign for next season, as the club goes with the more athletic player over a technical one. However, the signing of a new deal until 2030 brings confidence that the homegrown player is keen for more time next campaign.
Makes immediate return
