Sven Michel

Analysis: Michel had been out for several weeks after suffering an adductor injury during a preseason friendly against Osnabruck, a notable loss given how sharp he had looked in preseason form. His return to the matchday squad now confirms his recovery is complete, positioning him to build back toward regular contention for Paderborn.

Out several weeks

Michel will be out for several weeks after suffering an adductor injury during Saturday's friendly against Osnabruck, the club confirmed Wednesday.

Analysis: Michel suffered an adductor injury in the friendly against Osnabruck on Saturday when he received the ball during a counter-attack and immediately felt the problem in his right groin area, forcing an early substitution. Wednesday's official confirmation that he will be out for several weeks marks the expected timeline for this type of muscle injury, which Paderborn has not broken down further as either a strain or a partial tear. Michel was in sharp pre-season form, so this is a notable loss for the Bundesliga newcomer, though the injury itself is one that should resolve within a predictable window barring any fresh setback.
