Analysis: Throughout Australia's four-game run in the World Cup, Metcalfe was one of the team's most consistent performers. The St. Pauli midfielder not only scored against Turkiye in the opener, but he also took at least one shot and created at least one chance in his three starts. He had five shots, three chances, eight crosses and five tackles while playing in each of the Socceroos' four World Cup contests.

Analysis: Metcalfe offered little offensively with one chance created, one cross and one shot from distance without causing much trouble. He held up his end defensively however with three tackles, extending a run that has seen him make at least one tackle in every game of the tournament so far.
