Recovering from hip injury

Sverko had surgery to address a lingering hip problem and is expected to miss the start of the season, Corriere del Veneto reported.

Analysis: Sverko went under the knife after the end of last season and will need at least three more months to make a full recovery. His timetable will be clearer once he starts progressing through the rehab protocol. He featured 25 times last season in Serie B. Venezia will further add in the back after bringing in Armel Bella-Kotchap and losing Michael Svoboda.
