Suffers thigh issue

Pavard has been diagnosed with a right adductor strain after the Club Brugge game, Inter announced.

Analysis: Pavard could miss about 20 days and isn't a lock to return before the next international break. With John Stones (thigh) also on the mend, Yann Aurel Bisseck, Alessandro Bastoni, Manuel Akanji and Carlos Augusto are the only alternatives in the back.

Posts six clearances against Parma

Pavard recorded one cross (zero accurate), two interceptions and six clearances and won one of four tackles in Saturday's 3-0 victory versus Parma.

Analysis: Pavard drew his third start of the season amid substantial rotation and posted new season highs in tackles and clearances, helping secure his first clean sheet so far. He should play more regularly while John Stones (thigh) is on the mend. He has notched at least one clearance in his four appearances, totaling 10 and also registered three crosses (one accurate), seven tackles (three won) and three interceptions.

Departs Marseille after loan spell

Pavard is back at Inter after his loan spell in Ligue 1 but is unlikely to stay, Fabrizio Romano reported.

Analysis: Pavard wasn't acquired by Olympique Marseille after posting 36 tackles, 29 interceptions and 102 clearances and contributing to 16 clean sheets in 34 matches (28 starts). He had a falling-out with Inter coach Christian Chivu and isn't expected to stick around, despite the departures of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan De Vrij in the same role.

Back from suspension

Pavard is eligible for selection following the Ligue 1 ban he served Saturday against Nantes.

Analysis: Pavard may bounce back to a center-back position now that he's available, and he could either join Leonardo Balerdi and Facundo Medina to form a three-man defense or replace one of them if a back four is preferred. Pavard will hope to improve on his current numbers of 2.8 clearances, 1.1 tackles and 1.0 interceptions per game.

Will miss Nantes Game

Pavard is set to be suspended after accumulating five yellow cards in French competitions, the league announced.

Analysis: Pavard picked up his fifth yellow card in French competitions and is now suspended for the clash against Nantes on May 2. The Frenchman has been a regular starter in the back line and his absence guarantees a shake-up in the starting XI, with Leonardo Balerdi and Facundo Medina likely to start at center-back until he returns.
