Jacob (hip) is out for Saturday's EPL opener against Manchester United, manager Sergej Jakirovic told Hull Live. "Matty Jacob is out."

Jacob (hip) watched Tuesday's win over Rizespor from the stands after feeling something in his hip during Saturday's match, according to assistant coach Dean Holden, per Hull Live. "Right at the end of the first half, if you remember, he went for the header, and he nearly scored with the header. He just felt something in his hip. We're still trying to get to the bottom of that. He's a little bit sore, so we'll see how he is in the next few days"
