Andrea Cambiaso
Ruled out for Milan game
Cambiaso (ankle) "will miss Sunday's clash with Milan," coach Luciano Spalletti announced.
Analysis: Cambiaso escaped without serious damage but hasn't been able to train fully throughout the week and won't be an option for this one. Zeki Celik is set for another start at right back. Lloyd Kelly can handle the position as well.
Avoids serious problems
Cambiaso is day-to-day with a right-ankle sprain, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.
Analysis: Cambiaso played only a few minutes off the bench versus Parma, but the issue doesn't appear too severe, and he'll be monitored in training to determine his availability for the next round against Milan. Zeki Celik has started over him twice thus far.
Suffers injury Saturday
Cambiaso exited Saturday's 2-0 win over Parma in the second half due to an undisclosed injury.
Analysis: Cambiaso entered the game in the 76th minute and was forced to depart after just 10 minutes. Further tests will be needed to determine the extent of the injury, but he should be considered questionable ahead of facing AC Milan next Sunday in a new edition of the Derby dei Campioni.
Swings in five crosses versus Fiorentina
Cambiaso registered one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (two accurate) and one tackle (zero won) and created one scoring chance in Sunday's 2-0 loss against Fiorentina.
Analysis: Cambiaso had a solid offensive game but wasn't on point defensively, like the rest of the rearguard. He has tallied multiple chances in the last five matches, amassing nine chances created and registering one assist, four shots (one on target) and three clearances during that span. He has sent in at least two crosses in five consecutive bouts, piling up 20 (six accurate), and stretched his streak of appearances with one or more tackles to 12, for a total of 19 (eight won), with one clean sheet during that stretch.
Dishes out assist in Lecce game
Cambiaso assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal), four crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-0 victory against Lecce.
Analysis: Cambiaso frequently motored up and down the wing and linked up with Dusan Vlahovic on his first delivery, tallying his fifth helper in the season and his first since early February. He has sent in multiple crosses in the last four matches, amassing 15 (four accurate) and adding three shots (one on target), three interceptions and eight chances created over that span. Additionally, this marked his 11th appearance in a row with one or more tackles, for a total of 18 (nine won).
