Another bench appearance
Amdouni recorded two clearances in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Argentina.
Analysis: Amdouni would appear from the bench for Switzerland on Saturday, playing 34 minutes as he notched a chance created and two passes completed. This marks his fourth appearance in the World Cup, although all four came from the bench, playing only 69 minutes. He will now prepare for another promotion campaign with Burnley as they look to return to the Premier League.
Option against Leeds
Amdouni (knee) is on the bench for Friday's match against Leeds United.
Analysis: Amdouni was expected to remain out while he continued his recovery from a long-term ACL injury, but he was ultimately included among the substitutes. The forward may see little playing time for the remainder of the season, with his side no longer able to avoid relegation and likely not rushing his return. Still, this news increases the team's offensive depth behind Zian Flemming and Jaidon Anthony.
