Out indefinitely with calf injury
Alvero will be unavailable for Werder Bremen until further notice because of a calf injury revealed by an MRI, according to the club.
Analysis: Alvero returned to Bremen after his loan at Amiens expired, a spell in which he did not become a regular starter and did not feature in the final two matchdays as the team was relegated. He had never trained under head coach Daniel Thioune before this season, so the injury costs him time to impress the new coach. His future at Werder is unresolved, and his contract runs until 2028.
Returns to Bremen after loan spell
Alvero has returned to Werder Bremen after his loan at Amiens SC expired.
Analysis: The 24-year-old midfielder was loaned to Ligue 2 side Amiens in February after struggling for playing time in Bremen, but he did not become a regular starter at the club from northern France, and in the final two matchdays he did not feature at all as the team was relegated bottom of the table. Alvero has never previously trained under new head coach Daniel Thioune, so preseason could give him a chance to show himself to the new coach and prove his worth. Alvero's future at Werder remains unresolved. A sale or another loan remain possible and his contract in Bremen runs until 2028.
