Leaves Nigeria camp early
Onyedika will not play in Nigeria's final match of the international window and will return to Frankfurt early, following an agreement between Eintracht Frankfurt and the Nigerian Football Association, according to the club.
Analysis: Onyedika had been dealing with a shoulder issue after the 2-2 draw with Freiburg. He was rested for Nigeria's opening qualifier against Madagascar and played 14 minutes off the bench in the loss to Guinea-Bissau. The early return gives him extra time to prepare for the Bundesliga restart, though the source gives no reason for the decision, so his fitness is worth checking once he is back.
Returns to action
Onyedika (shoulder) returned to action Tuesday, coming off the bench in the 76th minute of Nigeria's 3-0 AFCON qualifying loss to Guinea-Bissau, according to the club.
Analysis: Onyedika appears to have moved past the shoulder issue that had bothered him following Eintracht Frankfurt's 2-2 draw against Freiburg. The midfielder was rested for the entirety of Nigeria's opening qualifier against Madagascar before getting 14 minutes against Guinea-Bissau. His return to competitive action puts him back in contention for a role in manager Adi Hutter's midfield when Bundesliga play resumes.
