Coulibaly (leg) returned to action in Sunday's friendly game against Newcastle.
Analysis: Coulibaly came off the bench in the last preseason game, marking his comeback from an injury absence that kept him out since April. The defender is not yet expected to make consistent starts, and he may instead serve as an occasional replacement for Andrew Omobamidele. If he's given meaningful playing time at some point, the young defender could be a source of clearances given his height and aerial presence.
Returns to Strasbourg
Coulibaly will return to parent club Strasbourg following the conclusion of his loan spell at Brest.
Analysis: Coulibaly made 16 Ligue 1 starts across 1,339 minutes for Brest, contributing six chances created, 14 tackles, 14 interceptions and 75 clearances in a solid defensive campaign. Coulibaly had previously featured in Brest's historic Champions League campaign in 2024/25, making eight European appearances, and now heads back to Strasbourg where his future will be assessed heading into the 2026/27 season.
