Signs for Rennes until 2030
Soumare has joined Rennes from Le Havre on a contract until 2030, the club announced.
Analysis: Soumare ended the season having been directly involved in 13 goals across Ligue 1, scoring eight and providing five assists across 34 appearances including 33 starts, with his ever-present status underlined by participating in Le Havre's last 52 consecutive league matches. Soumare developed at the prestigious Generation Foot academy that also produced Sadio Mane and Ismaila Sarr before progressing through Orleans, Beerschot, Quevilly-Rouen and a title-winning loan at Auxerre in Ligue 2, eventually becoming an integral figure under coach Didier Digard at Le Havre and wearing the captain's armband on five occasions. The tall forward, known for his pace, aerial ability and versatility across multiple attacking positions, now arrives at Rennes for a fresh challenge after his contract expired at Le Havre.
