Helps contain Germany in upset win
Bobadilla had one cross (one accurate), eight clearances and three interceptions and won one of four tackles in Monday's 1-1 (5-4) penalty shootout victory against Germany.
Analysis: Bobadilla got the call from the jump for the second time in the World Cup and had primarily defensive assignments, which he handled very diligently. He posted new tournament highs in tackles and clearances thanks to increased playing time. He filled in for Diego Gomez (suspension) in this one. He has notched six tackles (one won), five interceptions and 12 clearances in four appearances (two starts).

Bobadilla scored an own goal in Friday's 4-1 loss to the United States. He was subbed off at halftime.
Analysis: Bobadilla had a rough start in the World Cup opener, giving the United States a dream start when he inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the seventh minute. The Sao Paulo midfielder was unable to make the positive impact he typically provides in possession and transition, and he was replaced at halftime. He'll try to right the ship against Turkiye on Friday, June 19.
