Returns to squad against PSV

Bakayoko will return to RB Leipzig's squad for Tuesday's Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven after missing Saturday's 6-0 Bundesliga win over Eintracht Frankfurt due to an internal disciplinary matter, according to coach Martin Demichelis. "It was a minor incident. That stays between us. He made a small mistake, but he's a good lad. We've already spoken, and he'll be in the squad tomorrow."

Analysis: Bakayoko was left out of the squad against Frankfurt following a minor internal incident, but the matter has since been resolved. The winger has primarily featured in a substitute role this season, limiting his opportunities to establish himself in Leipzig's starting lineup. His pace, dribbling ability and ability to take on defenders make him a valuable attacking option, particularly against tiring defenses. Bakayoko remains in contention for minutes off the bench as he looks to earn a more prominent role in the attacking rotation.

Back from injury

Bakayoko (undisclosed) has recovered from the injury suffered just before the last Bundesliga matchday and has been back in full team training this week, according to the club.

Analysis: Bakayoko had been a last minute scratch for the loss to Bayer Leverkusen due to a contusion, extending an absence that also kept him out of the previous two matches and the Champions League opener against Como. His return to full training now confirms his recovery is complete, positioning him to push for a return to Leipzig's rotation.

Late scratch with contusion

Bakayoko (undisclosed) was a last minute scratch for Sunday's 2-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen, according to coach Martin Demichelis, according to Kicker. "Baka was suffering from a contusion."

Analysis: Bakayoko had already missed the previous two matches and remained on the bench for the Champions League opener against Como, so his absence here should not significantly impact the starting lineup given his already limited recent involvement. His recovery timeline from the knock he suffered in training will continue to be monitored during the international break.
