Alidu Seidu
Loan-locked to play Friday
Seidu is loan-locked and won't be available for Friday's match against Rennes, according to Francois Rauzy of ICI Armorique.
Analysis: Seidu has a clause in his current deal that prevents him from playing his parent club, Rennes. However, the defender should be available to face Angers on Sunday, Nov. 8. Seidu's absence shouldn't have a big impact in most fantasy formats, as he's made just one start this season.
Strong defensively in first start
Seidu registered one shot (zero on goal) in Friday's 2-1 win versus Brest.
Analysis: Seidu got his first start since joining Nice on loan from Rennes, replacing Xavier Mandza in the back three for the trip to Brest. The centre back had been limited to substitute appearances against Lille and Lyon, yet he settled quickly and helped Nice to a 2-1 win. The defender put up strong defensive numbers with two tackles won, three clearances, one interception and two blocked shots as Nice picked up their first away win of the season.
Join Nice on loan
Seidu joined Nice on a season-long loan from Rennes as a joker, the club announced.
Analysis: Seidu arrives as defensive reinforcement following the serious injuries to Antoine Mendy and Moise Bombito. The 26-year-old brings 106 Ligue 1 appearances with Clermont and Rennes, along with 25 caps for Ghana. His versatility and physical presence should give the team another option across the back line, while his stated desire to play and contribute could see him quickly push for a regular role.
