Decent first cap for France
Diouf had a decent first cap for France in Monday's 1-0 win over Belgium, deployed in the somewhat unfamiliar role of left back, according to RMC Sport.
Analysis: Diouf offered a curiosity in that position, remaining available to support even in midfield, though he left some space behind him and struggled at times in one-on-one situations, leaving a decent impression overall. He has been a regular at right wing back for Inter Milan this season, contributing an assist in the recent win over Udinese for his third of the campaign, and he will likely compete for the left back role at international level with Adrien Truffert under coach Zinedine Zidane.
Assists in win
Diouf assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal) and three chances created in Monday's 5-3 win over Udinese.
Analysis: Diouf has been occupying the right wing back role since the exit of Denzel Dumfries, with Djed Spence (undisclosed) still recovering, and he has started the last three matches in all competitions. He supplied the creative spark down the right flank against Udinese, breaking into the area before cutting the ball back for the goal that restored his side's advantage, which brought up his third assist of the campaign. Across four starts he has already created 15 chances and taken four shots.
