Swings in three crosses in Croatia clash
Sulemana recorded one shot (zero on goal) and three crosses (two accurate) and won two of two tackles in Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Croatia.
Analysis: Sulemana was a significant part of the offense and often glided past his direct opponent, but he had also produced a slew of misplaced passes, failing to properly capitalize on his effervescence on the wing. He returned to the XI after not featuring versus England. He has notched four crosses (three accurate), four tackles (two won) and one chance created so far, with no goal contributions.
Creates one chance vs Panama
Sulemana recorded one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Wednesday's 1-0 win against Panama.
Analysis: Sulemana started Ghana's opening match of the World Cup, occupying the attacking midfield space just behind Jordan Ayew. Despite that advanced role he was not able to contribute much on the attack, failing to record a shot and adding one chance created and one accurate cross. He was subbed off in the 58th minute for Brandon Thomas-Asante who was much more threatening on the attack. With Ghana needing to be more efficient on the attack versus England and Croatia, Sulemana is at risk of losing his place in the starting XI.
Passable performance against Fiorentina
Sulemana registered three shots (one on goal), one cross (one accurate) and two chances created in Friday's 1-1 draw versus Fiorentina.
Analysis: Sulemana resurfaced after seeing very little action in recent months and was rather lively in the final third, matching his season high in shots. He has taken at least one in his last five appearances despite his spotty minutes, accumulating eight attempts (three on target). He paid the price for the competition and an early coaching chance in his first season in Italy, scoring two goals, dishing out one assist and registering 33 shots (11 on target), 14 chances created and 32 crosses (eight accurate) in 34 displays (11 starts).
Available for cup fixture
Sulemana (foot) was an option but didn't play in Wednesday's Coppa Italia match versus Lazio.
Analysis: Sulemana was good to go after sitting out two fixtures because of a bruised foot, but didn't get minutes. He has played consistently only while Atalanta were dealing with some injuries. He has taken at least one shot in his last three showings (one start), accumulating four (two on target) and posting one key pass, one cross (zero accurate) and two clearances during that stretch.
