Notches two assists
Lewis assisted twice, along with four chances created in Tuesday's 5-1 win over AEK Athens.
Analysis: Lewis had not played since the season opener but was handed the start Tuesday, with the defender playing 90 minutes in the win. The defender would excel in his time on the field, recording two assists for his first goal contributions of the season in any competition. The young, versatile defender remains a lurking option deep on the depth chart, potentially getting more time if injuries arise in the midfield and defense, although his role remains small until then.
Earns senior England call-up
Lewis has been promoted from the England U21 squad to the senior team ahead of Tuesday's Nations League clash against Czechia at Wembley, according to the England National Team.
Analysis: Lewis earned the senior promotion after helping England U21s secure qualification for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship. The call-up gives the full-back an opportunity for senior international minutes despite his reduced role at Manchester City this season. Lewis started the Premier League opener at right-back but has since fallen behind Matheus Nunes and Abdukodir Khusanov in the competition for playing time.
