Remains out despite progress
Doukoure (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash against Rennes despite making progress in his recovery and recently returning to team training, according to coach Hugo Oliveira, per Ici Alsace.
Analysis: Doukoure remains sidelined after missing Strasbourg's last two Ligue 1 matches against Nice and Paris Saint-Germain due to an undisclosed injury. The Strasbourg captain resumed full team training Tuesday, suggesting he is approaching a return to competitive action, but Sunday's trip to Rennes will come too soon. His continued absence leaves Strasbourg without a regular starter in central defense, with Jeyland Mitchell and Abdoul-Karim Coulibaly having formed the center-back partnership during his absence.
Back in full team training
Doukoure (undisclosed) resumed full team training Tuesday after missing Strasbourg's last two Ligue 1 matches, putting him in contention for Sunday's clash against Rennes, according to Alsasports.
Analysis: Doukoure has recovered sufficiently to train normally with his teammates after an undisclosed injury forced him to miss consecutive league fixtures against Nice and Paris Saint-Germain. The Strasbourg captain had previously been limited to partial training sessions, making Tuesday's full participation an encouraging development ahead of the weekend. Jeyland Mitchell and Abdoul-Karim Coulibaly have formed the central defensive partnership during his absence, but Doukoure could reclaim his starting role if he is deemed fully fit. His return would provide a welcome boost to Strasbourg's defensive options after another spell on the sidelines.
