Joël Monteiro
LEC
Two shots from bench
Monteiro registered two shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Juventus.
Analysis: Monteiro was once again only an option from the bench, a third straight match starting on the bench following a string of three starts. He would record a chance created and two shots while on the field. He remains without a goal or an assist in his six appearances (three starts) this season.
Works hard in Monza fixture
Monteiro generated three tackles (two won), one clearance and one interception in Sunday's 3-2 victory over Monza.
Analysis: Monteiro got the nod again on the left wing, but he was more productive in the defensive phase than on offense. He'll have to show well to get consistent minutes, as Santiago Pierotti, Konan N'Dri, and Amar Ahmed Fatah are also options in the role. He has registered six tackles (four won), one off-target shot and one chance created in two displays.
Completes Lecce move
Monteiro completed a permanent transfer from Young Boys to Lecce on Monday.
Analysis: Monteiro signed a three-year deal with Lecce with the option to extend it for a further 12 months. He should compete for regular minutes in Lecce's attack, as he has the pace and skill on the wing that unsettle opposing defenses.
