Forced off with foot injury
Vidovic (foot) was forced off at halftime during Saturday's 1-0 victory over Hamburger SV after sustaining a knock to his foot, according to coach Ralf Kettemann, per NW sport. "He took a knock and I think he also has an open wound."
Analysis: Vidovic was unable to continue beyond halftime against Hamburg after suffering a blow to his foot during the first half. The attacking midfielder reportedly sustained an open wound in addition to the knock, although the exact nature and severity of the injury have yet to be determined. His early departure represents a setback for Paderborn's attacking rotation, with further assessment needed to establish whether he will miss additional matches. His availability for the next fixture remains uncertain.
Four shots in loss
Vidovic recorded four shots (zero on goal), one cross (one accurate) and three chances created in Saturday's 2-0 loss versus VfB Stuttgart.
Analysis: Vidovic had his best outing of the season Saturday but he still couldn't help his team find a goal. He recorded season highs in shots, chances created and accurate crosses on the attack, as he completed the full 90 minutes for the third time this season. He was active on the defensive end too, recording one tackle, three interceptions and two clearances in his full 90 minutes of action.
Signs with Paderborn
Vidovic has joined Paderborn from Dinamo Zagreb, the club announced.
Analysis: Vidovic came through Bayern Munich's academy and made his Bundesliga debut in April 2022, but loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem, Dinamo Zagreb, and Mainz followed as he searched for regular minutes, before a permanent move to Zagreb in summer 2025. He helped Zagreb complete a domestic double last season, contributing seven goals and five assists across 27 league appearances, and has also featured in Champions League qualifying this season. Sporting director Sebastian Lange pointed to his versatility, technical quality, and dribbling as reasons for the move, with Paderborn hoping he adds a proven attacking threat after his run of success in Croatia.
