Abdallah Sima
LEN
Out with thigh injury
Sima will be sidelined until late November due to a thigh injury, according to Christophe Schaad of Lensois.
Analysis: Sima missed the Senegal friendly against Comoros earlier this month because of a thigh injury, and further tests revealed the striker will be sidelined for a considerable stretch. This is a huge blow for Lens, as Sima has started every one of Lens' five Ligue 1 matches to date, scoring one goal and providing one assist. With Sima out, Franjo Ivanovic and Odsonne Edouard will be in line to see more playing time leading the attack.
Scores on brink of HT
Sima scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Le Mans.
Analysis: Sima scored the Lens goal as they came back from 2-0 behind to draw at the end of the game. This goal came in added time of the first half and was his first Ligue 1 goal of the season. He did also also in the first Chammpions League game where his side were able to win 3-2 away from home. This is the third game his season where he has taken at least two shots.
Scores first goal of season
Sima scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Thursday's 3-2 win over Slavia Prague.
Analysis: Sima endured a frustrating start to the match after failing to convert a huge first-half opportunity, but he responded by playing a decisive role in Lens' comeback. The forward forced Mikulas Konecny into the challenge that reduced Slavia to 10 men before capitalizing on the numerical advantage with the 73rd-minute equalizer. It was Sima's first goal across all competitions this season and an encouraging contribution after a quiet start to the campaign. While his finishing was inconsistent Tuesday, his ability to create problems with his movement and physical presence kept him involved and ultimately allowed him to have a major influence on the result.
Scores on Friday
Sima scored one goal to go with eight shots (two on goal) in Friday's 3-3 draw against Brest.
Analysis: Sima scored the team's second goal in the match which was also his second in the league campaign. He had eight shots and two were accurate. He provided 19 passes in the match out of which 10 were accurate.
