Junior Mwanga
Sees red card Saturday
Mwanga was sent off Saturday against Brest after receiving a straight red in the 42nd minute.
Analysis: Mwanga was sent off late in the first half, so Le Havre's road to a comeback is even steeper now. The defender will miss the match against Angers next Saturday, and if the suspension isn't increased, he'd be able to return to face Toulouse on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Signs for Le Havre
Mwanga has left Strasbourg to sign a four-year deal with Le Havre, the club announced.
Analysis: Mwanga joined Strasbourg from Girondins de Bordeaux in summer 2023 but made just 42 appearances there, spending stretches out on loan at Nantes and Le Havre rather than establishing himself in the first team. His loan spell at Le Havre stood out in particular. He arrived in January 2025 and became a key contributor to the club's survival push that season, with Le Havre previously calling it one of their best loan pickups. He now returns permanently as a first-team midfielder rather than parent-club property, giving Le Havre a player already familiar with the squad and the physicality of Ligue 1.
