Assists twice before knock Thursday
Osman delivered two assists but left with an undisclosed blow during Thursday's UEFA Conference League match against Kauno Zalgiris, Andy Naylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Osman took advantage of a convenient fixture to show his skills on the left wing, setting up two of his side's goals, but he ended up suffering an apparent discomfort. While the solid performance could help him push for increased action, the young attacker has yet to make a Premier League start, so his situation affects the depth of the squad behind Maxim De Cuyper while Kaoru Mitoma (hamstring) also struggles to regain fitness.
Minimal role in final third
Osman has made three appearances off the bench but hasn't played more than 16 minutes in any of them so far in the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Analysis: The main reason Osman has been getting relatively consistent playing time in Brighton's attacking line is that the Seagulls are dealing with several injuries, including Yakuba Minteh (leg), Kaoru Mitoma (hamstring) and Stefanos Tzimas (knee), to name a few. Don't expect Osman to become a steady fantasy contributor for Brighton anytime soon, especially since his role isn't expected to increase and could even shrink as more first-team players return to the squad.
Gets opportunity in rout
Osman registered one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 4-0 win versus Aston Villa.
Analysis: Osman came off the bench in Sunday's 4-0 win over Aston Villa, creating one chance and delivering one cross. The winger saw limited action with the result already secured but provided some attacking involvement from the flank. With Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh sidelined, Osman could benefit from increased opportunities early in the campaign, while Brighton's involvement in European competition should also open the door for additional minutes through squad rotation.
Returns to Brighton
Osman will return to parent club Brighton following the conclusion of his season split between Auxerre and Birmingham City.
Analysis: Osman made 14 Ligue 1 appearances without a goal but two assists for Auxerre in the first half of the campaign before being recalled and sent to Birmingham, where he contributed two goals and two assists across 992 Championship minutes. Osman, who joined Brighton from Nordsjaelland in 2024 after scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists across 44 appearances in Denmark, now heads back to the Amex with his long-term future at the club still to be determined.
