Makes Spain NT debut

Fernandez debuted with Spain in Saturday's 3-1 win over Czech Republic, his club announced.

Analysis: Roberto has been one of the best strikers in the early stages of the 2026/27 LaLiga campaign, notching six goals in seven league appearances while averaging 2.3 shots per game. He should remain a key player for Espanyol once their league campaign resumes against Malaga on Friday, Oct. 9.

Scores in loss to Rayo

Fernandez scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Tuesday's 2-1 loss against Rayo Vallecano.

Analysis: Fernandez has been rumored to be on the radar of the Spain national team, and based on his recent performances, the Espanyol striker is certainly making his presence felt. He has six goals in six appearances this season, and he's one goal away from matching his output from the entire 2025/26 campaign.

Brace leads to win

Fernandez scored two goals to go with two shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Osasuna.

Analysis: Fernandez continued his excellent start to the season Saturday, with the forward scoring once in the third minute before another in the 17th minute for a brace. That said, he already has two braces on the season, as he earned one in the season opener. He now has five goals in five appearances this season, scoring in three of their five outings this season.

Three shots in draw

Roberto Fernandez had three shots (zero on goal) in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Sevilla.

Analysis: Fernandez sent in three shots during Sunday's draw. The forward couldn't put any of them on goal though, so that volume lacked any real strength behind it. Fernandez will hope to be more efficient in the coming weeks as he tries to make the most of the chances created for him.

Scores in loss

Roberto Fernandez scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Real Sociedad.

Analysis: Fernandez was able to find the back of the net on his lone shot on target, but he didn't do much else to keep Espanyol's attack going. He's got a decent opportunity to keep scoring against Sevilla, a side which has conceded five goals through three games this year and surrendered 60 goals in LaLiga a season ago.

Bags brace

Fernandez scored two goals to go with two shots (two on goal) and two chances created in Sunday's 3-0 win versus Levante.

Analysis: Fernandez was the star of Sunday's match for Espanyol, as the forward scored not once, but twice in the 3-0 win. This is a great start to the season after an underwhelming 2025/26 season, as he only scored seven goals in 38 appearances. That said, at this rate, he should crush that tally.

Analysis: Fernandez set up Tyrhys Dolan's opener in the 56th minute. Fernandez recorded only 24 touches but also contributed defensively with two blocks and a clearance. Poor in draw

Roberto Fernandez recorded two shots (zero on goal) in Monday's 0-0 draw against Levante.

Analysis: Fernandez failed to put either of his two shots on goal during Monday's draw, a disappointing showing throughout for the forward. He failed to get involved in any big way throughout the match and was left disappointed at the end. It was a poor offensive showing across the board. Fernandez will hope to bounce back and be more efficient in the coming weeks.
