Giovane went under the knife to repair a sports hernia, Napoli announced.

Analysis: Giovane is expected to miss the next three games and return after the first international break, if everything goes to plan. He hasn't been fielded in the first two rounds, as Alisson Santos, Noa Lang, David Neres and Lorenzo Lucca got minutes over him in his various roles.
