Leaving Racing to join Olympiacos
Puerta completed a permanent transfer from Racing Santander to Olympiacos on Tuesday.
Analysis: Puerta emerged as an all-around midfielder for Colombia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and his early displays in the 2026/27 LaLiga season caught the eye of several teams in Europe. Olympiacos paid the full amount of the release clause, so Puerta figures to have a key role in the midfielder. Ivan Martin could be handed a bigger role in the middle of Racing's midfielder now that Puerta is no longer in the picture.
