On track for October return
Seimen remains on track in his recovery from a thigh injury, with his rehabilitation progressing smoothly, according to Bild.
Analysis: Seimen suffered the injury in mid July, causing him to miss a large chunk of preseason, and barring any setbacks, he's set to rejoin team training during the international break in late September. Fabian Bredlow will start in goal until then, expected to handle Stuttgart's first four Bundesliga matches against Bayern Munich, Cologne, Hoffenheim and Dortmund, as well as the club's Champions League opener. Seimen is specifically targeting an October 10 return against Paderborn to reclaim his spot as Stuttgart's number one.
Out until international break
Seimen sustained a muscle injury in the back of his thigh during team training and will be unable to participate in training or match play at least until the international break at the end of September 2026, the club announced.
Analysis: Seimen's absence, expected to last until the end of September due to a muscle injury in the back of his thigh, disrupts what looked like a path to more playing time for the young goalkeeper after Alexander Nubel left the club and his successful loan with SC Paderborn, and now has to wait out an extended recovery before he can push for a spot between the posts. Should no new goalkeeper arrive before the season begins, Fabian Bredlow is the likely candidate to start.
