Resumes outdoor training
Topp (knee) has resumed individual training on the pitch following a torn ACL and meniscus injury, with Werder Bremen targeting a partial return to team training before the end of the year, according to head of professional football Peter Niemeyer, per DeichStube. "Keke is back on the pitch now. He's already come a long way, but there's still a considerable way to go. The goal is for him to partially return to team training this year and gradually build up his fitness so he can become an option during winter preparations."
Analysis: Topp has taken an important step in his recovery after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus injury in March, returning to outdoor training nearly seven months after undergoing a lengthy rehabilitation process. The 22-year-old striker remains some way from competitive action, with Bremen planning to reintegrate him into partial team training before the end of December. His return to the matchday squad is not expected until the winter preparation period at the earliest, provided his recovery continues without setbacks. Once fully fit, Topp will face competition from Niclas Fullkrug and Cedric Itten for playing time in Bremen's attack.
