Arthur Piedfort
AUX
Undisputed starter in midfield
Piedfort has started each of Auxerre's first five Ligue 1 matches in midfield after joining the club in the summer transfer window.
Analysis: Piedfort has been a summer signing for the AJA and has played 384 of a possible 450 minutes to begin the campaign, giving him an immediate role alongside Kevin Danois. He was substituted in the 81st minute against Nice and at halftime against Brest due to management but his contributions are decent as he created two chances and logged seven crosses, eight corners, five tackles and eight interceptions in five outings.
Signs with Auxerre
Piedfort signed with Auxerre from Westerlo on a contract through 2030, the club announced.
Analysis: Piedfort got his move out of Belgium and makes the switch to France and Ligue 1 with Auxerre. It's a good chance for the defensive midfielder, who will hope to show something that shows he belongs in a top five league. Piedfort could take on immediate minutes in the Auxerre midfield.
